THE KEEPER

Cinemavixion Review

Steven Seagal stars as a disillusioned LAPD officer in "The Keeper," a gritty action thriller that channels the spirit of such films as "The Professional." Following a near-fatal betrayal by his partner, Seagal’s character seeks refuge as a bodyguard for the daughter of a wealthy businessman. The narrative quickly escalates when the daughter is kidnapped, propelling Seagal into a relentless pursuit of her abductors. Directed by Keoni Waxman, the film delivers a straightforward, no-nonsense plot that emphasizes Seagal’s signature stoic performance and martial arts prowess. While the plot offers familiar tropes of the genre, the interplay between Seagal and the supporting cast, particularly Liezl Carstens, provides a solid foundation for the film’s suspenseful rescue mission. "The Keeper" is a solid choice for fans of Seagal’s brand of action cinema.
