THE KEEPER

Cinemavixion Review

Paul Lynch's 'The Keeper' presents a chilling descent into obsession, anchored by a disturbing premise. The narrative follows a dancer abducted by a seemingly exemplary police officer, Sergeant Burns, who imprisons her in a twisted game of control. The film masterfully explores the psychological battle between captor and captive, delving into the officer's warped motivations stemming from a traumatic past. Dennis Hopper and Asia Argento deliver compelling performances, navigating the complex power dynamics and escalating tension. While the plot takes a dark turn, it serves as a stark examination of control and trauma. The film's gritty atmosphere and intense character study make it a noteworthy, albeit unsettling, entry in the thriller genre.
