THE INTERROGATION

Cinemavixion Review

"The Interrogation" (2016) presents a stark and chilling portrayal of historical reckoning, focusing on the 1946 trial of Rudolf Höss, the commandant of Auschwitz. Directed by Erez Pery, the film delves into the psychological battle between Höss and Albert, the young Polish judge tasked with extracting a confession. The narrative, drawing from Höss's own memoirs, masterfully explores the banality of evil and the systematic dehumanization that characterized the Holocaust. With performances from Joan Blackham, Romanus Fuhrmann, and Maciej Marczewski, the film is a somber yet essential examination of one of history's darkest chapters, prompting reflection on accountability and the nature of atrocity.
