THE INTERNSHIP GAMES

Cinemavixion Review

Tania Zee's "The Internship Games" offers a compelling narrative centered on six ambitious college students, each hailing from historically black colleges and universities, vying for a life-altering internship at Econo Air in Los Angeles. The stakes are palpably high, with each contestant harboring profound personal reasons, including dire financial needs and the prospect of paid tuition, making the competitive environment a crucible for their futures. Zee, who also directs and stars, along with Tonya Reneé Banks and Elena M. Ray, crafts a story where the cutthroat nature of the internship program and the underlying chaos within the company itself threaten to overshadow the participants' goals. The film delves into the desperation that drives these students, forcing them to confront not only the external challenges but also the interpersonal dynamics that emerge under pressure. "The Internship Games" serves as a tense drama exploring ambition, survival, and the ultimate cost of success in a high-stakes corporate arena.
