THE HORRIFIC HISTORY OF CHEMICAL WARFARE

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the grim and chilling chronicle of chemical warfare, a subject marked by profound human tragedy. The narrative highlights the pivotal and devastating Second Battle of Ypres on April 22, 1915, where the introduction of a 'strange gas' resulted in the deaths of 5,000 soldiers and injured 15,000 more. It effectively underscores the insidious nature of these weapons, noting their prohibition by the 1925 Geneva Protocol, yet acknowledging their continued use. The film serves as a stark reminder of the horrors humanity has inflicted upon itself and the enduring ethical questions surrounding such warfare.
