THE HIKE

Cinemavixion Review

Rupert Bryan's 2011 thriller, "The Hike," plunges viewers into a harrowing wilderness survival scenario. The film adeptly builds tension as a group of friends on a camping trip find their excursion turning into a desperate fight for survival. Bryan, who also penned the screenplay, crafts a narrative that explores themes of camaraderie and resilience under duress, amplified by the isolation of the remote British countryside. The performances, particularly from Jemma Bolt, Stephanie Siadatan, and Lisa-Marie Long, ground the escalating peril in believable fear and determination. While the film may not boast widespread accolades, its effective use of atmosphere and suspense offers a compelling, albeit intense, cinematic experience for those drawn to survival thrillers.
