THE HIDEOUT

Cinemavixion Review

Denny Barnes' 2014 thriller, "The Hideout," plunges viewers into a claustrophobic nightmare as a group of criminals, reeling from a botched heist, seek sanctuary in what they believe to be an abandoned house. The film, also credited to co-director Ken Moralez, stars Jinhee Joung, I. Elijah Baughman, and Patrick Lazzara, who convincingly portray the escalating paranoia and terror. What begins as a desperate refuge soon devolves into a desperate fight for survival as the house reveals its sinister secrets and a terrifying force emerges from the shadows. "The Hideout" masterfully blends elements of crime and horror, creating a tense atmosphere where the true threat is as much internal mistrust as it is the external menace. While the film may not boast widespread critical acclaim, its tight pacing and unsettling premise offer a compelling, albeit grim, cinematic experience for fans of suspenseful thrillers.
