THE HAUNTING OF ALCATRAZ

Cinemavixion Review

Steve Lawson's "The Haunting Of Alcatraz" plunges viewers into the chilling atmosphere of the infamous island prison in 1937. The film centers on a young prison guard whose night shift becomes a descent into terror, marked by disturbing phenomena and the suspicious death of an inmate. Lawson expertly crafts a narrative that blurs the lines between supernatural dread and the very real horrors of corruption within the prison walls. While the film garnered a modest 2.7 rating on IMDb, its strength lies in its atmospheric tension and the compelling premise, drawing on "horrifying true events" to deliver a story that is both a ghost tale and a gritty drama. Tom Hendryk, Helen Crevel, and Chris Lines anchor the film with their performances, navigating the oppressive environment of Alcatraz. "The Haunting Of Alcatraz" is a commendable effort in the horror-mystery genre, offering a claustrophobic and unsettling cinematic experience that fans of prison thrillers and supernatural tales will find particularly engaging.
