THE HAPPINESS PLAYBOOK

Cinemavixion Review

Jeff Hare's 'The Happiness Playbook' offers a charming exploration of the unexpected turns love can take, particularly when ambition is involved. The film centers on a journalist, played with engaging conviction by Kabby Borders, who infiltrates a seemingly idyllic happiness retreat. Her assignment leads her to Paul, portrayed with undeniable charisma by Tyler Harlow, the retreat's enigmatic leader. As their professional distance dissolves into genuine connection, the narrative delves into the complexities of trust and authenticity. The chemistry between Borders and Harlow is palpable, grounding the romantic entanglements in believable emotion. While the plot introduces a familiar trope of hidden identities and career-versus-heart dilemmas, the execution feels fresh, focusing on the nuanced emotional journey of its protagonists. 'The Happiness Playbook' is a delightful romantic comedy that successfully balances its charming premise with heartfelt performances.
