THE GRIMEY GANGS OF MANCHESTER: FROM VICTORIAN ERA TO TODAY

Cinemavixion Review

Gary and Martin Kemp delve into the shadowy history of Manchester's criminal underbelly in this compelling documentary. The series begins by unearthing the brutal legacy of the Victorian-era Scuttlers, offering a vivid glimpse into the harsh realities of early organized crime. The narrative then transitions to the more recent exploits of the Gooch family, whose activities cast a long shadow over contemporary Manchester. Through their investigative journey, the Kemp brothers illuminate the evolution of British gangsterism, from its nascent stages to the complex, modern underworld. This exploration provides a fascinating, albeit grim, perspective on the enduring nature of criminal enterprise and its societal impact across different eras.
