THE GHERKIN, THE BUILDING LONDON DIDN'T WANT BUILT

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the architectural evolution of skyscrapers, tracing their journey from modest late 19th-century structures to the towering edifices that define modern cityscapes. It explores the innovation and ambition driving architects and engineers to constantly redefine the limits of vertical construction. While specific details about 'The Gherkin' building are hinted at in the title, the broader narrative focuses on the historical progression and the inherent challenges and triumphs in building upwards. The film offers a compelling look at how these monumental structures not only shape our skylines but also reflect the technological and artistic aspirations of their times.
