THE GATLING GUN

Cinemavixion Review

Robert Gordon's "The Gatling Gun" from 1971 is a gritty Western that plunges viewers into the heart of frontier conflict. The narrative centers on a perilous mission: a group of cavalry soldiers tasked with transporting a formidable Gatling gun to their fort. Their journey is fraught with danger, as they are relentlessly pursued by Apache warriors determined to seize the powerful weapon. The film, starring Guy Stockwell, Robert Fuller, and BarBara Luna, effectively captures the tension and brutality of the era. While the external data notes a plot involving a deserter and a preacher, the core conflict of protecting the Gatling gun against overwhelming odds remains consistent. This Western offers a compelling, albeit fictionalized, glimpse into the strategic importance of advanced weaponry during the period and the desperate measures taken to control it.
