THE FOREST WITHIN US

Cinemavixion Review

Attila Végh's "The Forest Within Us" invites viewers into the heart of Hungary's Börzsöny forest, presenting a contemplative exploration of the natural world and its profound connection to our inner selves. The film poetically illustrates director Végh's motto, suggesting that the intricate rhythms of nature—from the smallest grass frog to the majestic eagle owl, the delicate wild orchid to the ancient beech trees—serve as a mirror to our own internal landscapes. Through the seasonal ebb and flow of its diverse inhabitants, including peregrine falcons, fire salamanders, foxes, red deers, and wild cats, the documentary offers a serene yet powerful meditation on existence, growth, and the quiet wisdom found in the wilderness. It's a visual poem that encourages introspection and a deeper appreciation for the environment that shapes us.
