THE FLYING TIGERS: THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF THE FAMOUS AERIAL WARFARE SQUADRON

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the remarkable story of the Flying Tigers, the American Volunteer Group (AVG) that fought valiantly in China and Burma during World War II. Led by the visionary Claire Chennault, who championed the fighter plane over bombers and developed groundbreaking 'hit-and-run' tactics, the AVG became a legendary force. Operating from bases in China and Burma, their iconic shark-mouthed P-40 fighters proved instrumental in defending the crucial Burma Road and Chinese cities against overwhelming Japanese air power. These decisive early victories transformed the Flying Tigers into a potent symbol of Allied resilience during a critical period of the Pacific War, before their official integration into the U.S. 14th Air Force in 1942. The film offers a compelling look at their daring aerial combat and significant contributions to the war effort.
