THE FLOOR WALKER

Cinemavixion Review

Charlie Chaplin's 'The Floorwalker' is a delightful entry from his Mutual Film Corporation era, showcasing the Tramp persona at its chaotic best. In this 1916 silent comedy, Chaplin orchestrates a symphony of slapstick as a customer wreaking havoc in a department store. The plot thickens as he inadvertently gets caught in a scheme by the store manager and floorwalker to embezzle funds. While the film is a testament to Chaplin's early genius in physical comedy and storytelling, its true charm lies in the masterful way he blends escalating mayhem with moments of subtle character work, all within the confines of a bustling retail environment. A must-see for silent film enthusiasts and anyone looking for a timeless dose of laughter.
