THE FIVE

Cinemavixion Review

Travis Mills's "The Five" presents a taut, character-driven narrative centered on a high-stakes bank robbery gone awry. The film masterfully builds suspense as a group of strangers, brought together by a scorned woman, find themselves in a tense standoff. The core of the drama lies in their increasingly paranoid wait for their ill-gotten gains, a situation exacerbated by growing mistrust and a missing weapon. Mills effectively uses the confined setting to amplify the psychological pressure, forcing the audience to question loyalties alongside the characters. While the plot may tread familiar ground, the execution, particularly the exploration of greed and betrayal, offers a compelling watch. The ensemble cast delivers solid performances, grounding the escalating tension in believable desperation, making "The Five" an engaging exploration of human nature under duress.
