THE FIRST ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON DONALD TRUMP

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the unsettling events of June 2016, chronicling the extraordinary story of Michael Sandford, a young British man arrested at a Donald Trump rally. The film meticulously pieces together the narrative of Sandford's journey from suburban England to a US courtroom, driven by an apparent intent to assassinate the then-presidential nominee. With Sandford suffering from Asperger's, the documentary grapples with the complex motivations behind his actions, posing profound questions about his state of mind and the circumstances that led him to such a drastic attempt. Through the lens of his family's anxious wait during his sentencing, and set against the backdrop of Trump's ascent, this program offers an intimate look at a troubled individual and the broader societal currents at play.
