THE FAMILIAR: SPIRIT POSSESSION

Cinemavixion Review

Robert J. Massetti's "The Familiar: Spirit Possession" delves into the unsettling territory where grief, desire, and the supernatural collide. The narrative centers on Sam, a man still mourning his late wife, whose life takes a disturbing turn with the arrival of his estranged sister-in-law, Laura. What begins as a tentative rekindling of connection quickly spirals into a terrifying ordeal as Laura unknowingly harbors a malevolent entity named Rallo. The film masterfully navigates Sam's internal conflict, forcing him to confront his lingering bitterness and re-evaluate his beliefs as the spirit's influence over Laura grows. Skyler Haze and Cameron Keys deliver performances that grapple with complex emotions, portraying the struggle against an external evil that preys on internal vulnerabilities. Massetti crafts a suspenseful atmosphere, making "The Familiar: Spirit Possession" a compelling exploration of love, loss, and the fight for one's soul against encroaching darkness.
