THE FABULOUS DORSEYS

Cinemavixion Review

The Fabulous Dorseys, released in 1947, offers a charming glimpse into the lives and careers of the iconic Dorsey brothers, Tommy and Jimmy. Playing themselves, the duo navigates their musical journey from a demanding upbringing to a professional split that ultimately propelled their individual successes even further. This musical biography, directed by Alfred E. Green, is a delightful vehicle for their signature sound, allowing audiences to step down memory lane with the celebrated bandleaders. While the film is a straightforward portrayal of their rise, its true strength lies in the authentic performances and the excellent music that defines the Dorsey legacy. It's a nostalgic treat for fans of big band music and the golden era of Hollywood.
