THE EVOLUTION OF ULTIMATE FRISBEE: FROM NEW YORK TO THE GLOBAL STAGE

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary traces the nascent stages of ultimate frisbee, highlighting a pivotal 1989 Sports Illustrated feature on an unnamed New York team. It posits this group as instrumental in elevating the sport through their sophisticated approach and athleticism. The narrative suggests a transformative period, moving the game from its local origins towards a broader, global recognition. While the film delves into the sport's evolution, it primarily serves as a compelling historical account of how a few dedicated individuals and a significant media mention helped shape the trajectory of ultimate frisbee into the competitive and widely played game it is today.
