THE EVIL FAIRY QUEEN

Cinemavixion Review

Simon Wells' "The Evil Fairy Queen" plunges viewers into a dark fantasy realm where the line between familial obligation and sinister magic blurs. The film centers on a family lured to a remote farmhouse, only to discover it's a nexus for a dying fairy kingdom desperate for rejuvenation. Their young daughter becomes the target for a ritualistic sacrifice, forcing her mother into a desperate battle against the titular Evil Fairy Queen. While the premise leans into classic fairy tale tropes, the execution attempts a grittier, more suspenseful tone. The performances, particularly from the central family members, carry the emotional weight of their terrifying predicament. "The Evil Fairy Queen" offers a chilling exploration of maternal instinct clashing with ancient, malevolent forces, making for a compelling, albeit dark, viewing experience.
