THE ENCHANTED FOREST

Cinemavixion Review

Lew Landers' "The Enchanted Forest" from 1945 offers a poignant tale of found family and the wisdom imparted by nature. Edmund Lowe, as the hermit Old John, delivers a performance steeped in gentle gravitas, guiding young William Severn through a wilderness that serves as both a backdrop and a teacher. The narrative, focusing on a boy raised in solitude, explores themes of belonging and the profound connection between humanity and the natural world. While perhaps not a blockbuster, this drama, according to its IMDb rating of 6.0, provides a heartwarming and thoughtful cinematic experience. Its simplicity belies a deeper resonance, making it a quiet gem for those seeking a story that values life's fundamental lessons over spectacle.
