THE DISAPPEARANCE OF FLIGHT 412

Cinemavixion Review

Jud Taylor's "The Disappearance of Flight 412" offers a taut, Cold War-era thriller that delves into the unsettling territory of unexplained aerial phenomena and governmental secrecy. Set against the backdrop of a radar test mission, the film masterfully builds suspense as Flight 412 becomes witness to the inexplicable vanishing of fighter jets scrambled to investigate a UFO. Glenn Ford anchors the narrative with a steady presence, embodying the bewildered yet determined military man caught in a web of potential cover-up. The screenplay, co-written by George Simpson and Neal R. Burger, effectively explores themes of paranoia and the military-industrial complex's response to the unknown. While perhaps not a blockbuster spectacle, its chilling atmosphere and thought-provoking premise make it a compelling watch for fans of classic sci-fi mysteries.
