THE DESPISED TRAITORS WHO COLLABORATED WITH THE NAZIS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the morally complex and often deeply disturbing subject of collaboration during World War II. It meticulously examines the actions of figures like Vidkun Quisling, whose name became synonymous with treachery, detailing his betrayal of Norway and eventual execution. The narrative also sheds light on the less-discussed facets of wartime allegiances, including the Irish Republican Army's entanglement with Nazi Germany in "Plan Kathleen," a mission aimed at invading Northern Ireland. Furthermore, the film explores the controversial alliance of Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, with the Axis powers, highlighting his anti-Zionist stance. A particularly poignant and unsettling segment investigates the paradoxical stories of individuals of Jewish descent, referred to as 'Mischlings,' who found themselves fighting for the Nazi regime against their own persecuted communities. The documentary forces viewers to confront the difficult choices, ideological shifts, and desperate circumstances that led individuals down paths of collaboration in the crucible of total war.
