THE DESPICABLE MAN

Cinemavixion Review

This film presents a rather peculiar premise, blending the gritty world of organized crime with the fantastical realm of mermaids. The narrative follows a young woman whose family business is in dire straits, leading her into an arrangement with a gangster. The plot takes a sharp turn as she discovers her hidden identity as a mermaid with the power to influence humans through her voice. While the juxtaposition of genres is intriguing, the execution, as hinted by the description, might prove challenging to balance cohesively. The inclusion of Iwan Rheon in the cast suggests a potential for a compelling performance, but the film's overall success will hinge on its ability to weave these disparate elements into a satisfying whole.
