THE DEADLY RACE TO THE SUMMIT OF THE MATTERHORN

Cinemavixion Review

The Matterhorn, a peak once deemed unconquerable, becomes the dramatic stage for a gripping historical narrative in 'The Deadly Race To The Summit Of The Matterhorn.' This documentary plunges viewers into the heart of a legendary 1865 ascent, pitting two teams against each other in a fierce competition for the summit. While the British-Swiss team achieved a historic victory, their triumph was tragically marred by the loss of four climbers during the perilous descent. The film masterfully explores the lingering questions surrounding this event: was it a simple accident, a case of sabotage, or something far more sinister? It’s a compelling look at human ambition, the unforgiving power of nature, and the enduring mysteries that echo from the annals of mountaineering history.
