THE DEAD SLEEP SOUNDLY

Cinemavixion Review

Jacob Perrett's "The Dead Sleep Soundly" (2021) offers a taut exploration of a man grappling with a shadowed past. The film masterfully uses the protagonist's nocturnal insomnia not just as a plot device, but as a lens through which to examine his internal turmoil and his unsettling observations of the city around him. Starring Derric Hyde, Rose Spencer, and Taylor Rhoades, the performances anchor the narrative with a palpable sense of unease. While the film may be a more intimate, character-driven piece rather than a grand spectacle, its psychological depth and atmospheric tension make it a compelling watch for those drawn to introspective thrillers. Perrett crafts a mood that lingers, inviting audiences to ponder the nature of guilt and the specter of unresolved history.
