THE DARK TRUTH BEHIND JAPAN'S TEENAGE KILLERS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the disturbing rise of violent crime among Japan's youth, a stark contrast to the nation's historical reputation for low crime rates. It explores the societal anxieties and pressures contributing to this alarming trend, examining case studies of young offenders, from cyber-savvy bullies to members of burgeoning teenage gangs. By presenting individual narratives and perspectives, including those of victims' families, the film attempts to unravel the complex factors behind these often motiveless and brutal acts. It offers a compelling, albeit unsettling, glimpse into the darker facets of contemporary Japanese society and the challenges it faces in understanding and addressing this frightening phenomenon.
