THE DARK LURKING

Cinemavixion Review

Gregory Connors' "The Dark Lurking" plunges viewers a mile beneath the Earth's surface to Outpost 320, a research facility where a critical error unleashes an ancient, flesh-eating horde. This 2009 Australian sci-fi horror, starring Tonia Renee Hammerich and Bret Kennedy, presents a claustrophobic battle for survival as eight disparate survivors, including researchers, mercenaries, and a medic, find themselves trapped with dwindling resources and little hope. The plot thickens with the revelation that one among them may be the embodiment of the very darkness they face. While the film garnered a modest 3.2 rating on IMDb, its premise offers a tense descent into primal fear and the unknown, exploring themes of isolation and the consequences of tampering with forces beyond human comprehension. For fans of creature features and subterranean thrillers, "The Dark Lurking" provides a chilling, albeit low-budget, journey into the abyss.
