THE CURSED SEAT

Cinemavixion Review

Nadezhda Mikhalkova's "The Cursed Seat" plunges into the shadowy realm of adolescent fears and supernatural retribution. Set in a seemingly ordinary local cinema, the film introduces a chilling urban legend: a cursed seat that dooms its occupants to a tragic fate. The narrative gains momentum when a group of high school friends, after a day of truancy, find themselves ensnared by this ancient curse. What begins as a shared transgression quickly morphs into a terrifying ordeal as mysterious deaths plague their circle, blurring the lines between victim and perpetrator. As the authorities delve into the escalating fatalities, the young protagonists are forced to confront not only an external malevolent force but also their own inner demons and buried secrets. Mikhalkova masterfully builds suspense, weaving a tale of guilt, suspicion, and the desperate fight for survival against a seemingly inescapable doom. The film explores the psychological toll of fear and the complex dynamics of friendship under extreme pressure, urging viewers to question who among them might be next to fall prey to the cursed seat.
