THE CHRISTMAS TAPES

Cinemavixion Review

On a chilly Christmas Eve, what begins as a cozy family movie night takes a sinister turn in "The Christmas Tapes." As the festive tranquility is shattered by the arrival of a mysterious stranger, the family finds themselves ensnared in a chilling, holiday-themed horror anthology. The stranger's unsettling intensity and his insistence on crafting his own "Christmas classic"—one destined for infamy rather than cheer—propels the narrative into a harrowing fight for survival. Directed by Robert Livings and Randy Nundlall Jr., and featuring a cast including Greg Sestero, Vernon Wells, and Dave Sheridan, this 2022 film masterfully weaves tales of terror and suspense. Echoing the eerie tension of genre predecessors like "Black Christmas" and "Gremlins," "The Christmas Tapes" delivers a spine-tingling experience that ensures this holiday will be one viewers won't soon forget. While it may not claim traditional holiday cheer, it offers a unique and unsettling take on the season, making it a noteworthy watch for fans of holiday horror.
