THE CAPTURE

Cinemavixion Review

In "The Capture" (2017), director Jim Agnew presents a thought-provoking, albeit somewhat grim, exploration of humanity's relentless pursuit of answers beyond the veil of mortality. The film centers on a team of scientists who, in their audacious attempt to prove life after death, inadvertently tamper with the fundamental laws of existence. Starring Jonathan Howard, Nora-Jane Noone, and Jordan Tisdale, the narrative unfolds as their experiment goes awry, leading to the capture of a psychopomp—a mythical guide between worlds. This act of hubris has profound implications, not only for the understanding of life and death but also for the very fabric of space and time. While the film grapples with ambitious concepts and delivers a tense atmosphere, its true strength lies in its willingness to confront existential questions, leaving the audience to ponder the potential consequences of playing with forces beyond our comprehension.
