THE BRUTAL ORIGIN STORY OF THE FIRST VIKINGS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the often-misunderstood world of the Vikings, challenging conventional wisdom with a blend of modern archaeology and scientific analysis. It posits that Viking raids were far from spontaneous acts of barbarism, but rather meticulously planned operations driven by economic motives and a sophisticated understanding of psychological warfare. The discovery of early burial sites in Estonia, predating previously accepted timelines, provides compelling evidence for this revised historical perspective. Skeletons bearing the marks of intense combat, including decapitation, underscore the brutal reality of these expeditions. Yet, the narrative wisely avoids a one-dimensional portrayal, acknowledging the complex societal fabric of the Vikings, which encompassed not only plunder but also crucial elements of trade and settlement. It's a fascinating exploration that enriches our understanding of these legendary Norsemen.
