THE BRUCE - COURAGE NEVER DIES

Cinemavixion Review

Despite its ambitious scope, 'The Bruce - Courage Never Dies' struggles to fully realize the epic potential of its subject. Set against the tumultuous backdrop of the First War of Scottish Independence, the film chronicles the rise of Robert the Bruce from warrior to king. While the narrative attempts to capture the grit and determination of its historical figure, the execution often feels uneven. The performances, particularly from the central cast, are earnest but lack the commanding presence needed to elevate the material. The production, while clearly striving for historical authenticity, presents a somewhat muted visual landscape. It's a film that aims for the grandeur of historical epics but ultimately settles for a more modest, though occasionally engaging, portrayal of a pivotal moment in Scottish history.
