THE BREED

Cinemavixion Review

Nicholas Mastandrea's 'The Breed' plunges viewers into a chilling survival scenario on a remote island, where a weekend getaway devolves into a desperate fight for life. The film masterfully crafts a tense atmosphere as a group of friends, including the resourceful Michelle Rodriguez and the increasingly panicked Oliver Hudson, find themselves besieged by a pack of genetically engineered hounds. The narrative cleverly unfolds the sinister origins of these creatures, adding a layer of mystery to the relentless action. While the Rotten Tomatoes score of 29% suggests a mixed critical reception, the film's commitment to visceral thrills and its exploration of primal fears—nature's fury turned lethal—make it a compelling watch for fans of creature features and survival horror. Its tight runtime and escalating dread ensure a heart-pounding experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
