THE BOGMAN

Cinemavixion Review

This 2023 independent horror offering, 'The Bogman,' delves into the unsettling territory of rural folklore with a palpable sense of unease. The narrative centers on a family's relocation to a seemingly idyllic farm, only to find themselves entangled with local legends of a creature lurking in the surrounding woods. As their new home reveals its secrets, the line between myth and terrifying reality blurs. Director Mitch Laing crafts an atmosphere thick with dread, effectively using the isolation of the countryside to amplify the characters' growing fear. While the film may tread familiar ground in the creature-feature genre, its commitment to building suspense and exploring the psychological impact of the unknown on a family unit offers a compelling watch for fans of atmospheric horror. The IMDb rating of 6.7 suggests a generally positive reception for this chilling tale.
