Cinemavixion Review
‘The Bluebeard Case’ plunges into the chilling narrative of Henri Désiré Landru, a figure infamously known as the Bluebeard of Gambais. This grim account, unfolding against the backdrop of the First World War, details Landru’s predatory pattern: he masterfully seduced single women, only to murder them between December 1915 and January 1919 in the village of Gambais. His depravity extended beyond the killings, as he systematically incinerated the victims' bodies in his home stove and subsequently absconded with their assets. The film appears to be a stark dramatization of a true crime that continues to fascinate and horrify.
