Through the lens of archaeological discoveries, the film re-examines her reign, presenting evidence of a period of significant military, economic, and cultural prosperity. The narrative explores the duality of her rule, highlighting both her prowess as a politician and leader who expanded China's influence across vast territories, and the undeniable cruelty that marked her regime. The documentary skillfully blends historical inquiry with the allure of hidden tombs and ancient treasures, offering a nuanced perspective on a figure often relegated to the annals of infamy.
