THE BLACK MASS

Cinemavixion Review

Devanny Pinn's "The Black Mass" plunges viewers into the chilling atmosphere of Florida during the winter of 1978, a period marked by the predatory presence of serial killer Ted Bundy. Inspired by true events, the film masterfully captures the mounting dread and vulnerability of college students during a harrowing 24-hour span. Robi Austin, Brooklen Bruce, and Brittney Ayona Clemons deliver compelling performances that anchor the narrative with raw emotion. While the film might not shy away from the darkness of its subject matter, its unflinching portrayal and directorial choices offer a potent, albeit disturbing, cinematic experience. The critical acclaim, evidenced by a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, suggests a film that resonates deeply, making it a significant entry in the true crime genre.
