Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the harrowing events of December 1910, a period etched in British criminal history by the Houndsditch murders. The narrative meticulously reconstructs the audacious burglary attempt that tragically claimed the lives of three City of London Police officers – Sergeants Bentley and Tucker, and Constable Choat – while wounding two others. The film effectively sets the stage for the infamous Siege of Sidney Street that followed, highlighting the brazenness of the perpetrators and the profound impact on law enforcement. It serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by officers and the complex, often violent, undercurrents of early 20th-century London.
