THE BELLE STARR STORY

Cinemavixion Review

The Belle Starr Story, helmed by Piero Cristofani, presents a compelling narrative of resilience and defiance in the Old West. Elsa Martinelli delivers a powerful performance as Belle Starr, a woman who transcends the limitations of her era through sheer grit and skill. Her character, abused in her youth, carves out her own path, proving herself as capable as any man in riding, smoking, and shooting. The film explores her complex relationship with Larry Blackie, portrayed by Robert Woods, through a dynamic of on-again, off-again partnership. A particularly poignant moment sees Belle rescuing Blackie after a botched robbery, only for him to depart with the hope of a future reunion. The description hints at a gritty, independent spirit that defines Belle Starr's journey, making this a potentially captivating watch for fans of Westerns with strong female leads.
