Malcolm St. Clair's "The Bashful Bachelor" offers a delightful slice of rural American humor, firmly rooted in the comedic stylings of Lum and Abner. Chester Lauck and Norris Goff, reprising their beloved radio personas, bring an infectious energy to Pine Ridge. The narrative, centered on Abner's impulsive trade of the general store's delivery car for a racehorse and Lum's shy courtship, is a charmingly chaotic affair. Zasu Pitts adds her signature touch of endearing awkwardness as the object of Lum's affection.
