THE BASEBALL CARD SCANDAL

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the fascinating, and ultimately melancholic, world of baseball card collecting. Through the personal lens of Stu Stone, we witness the rise and fall of a hobby that once captivated North America. The film poignantly contrasts the vibrant collecting culture of the late 80s and early 90s, a shared passion between Stu and his father Jack, with the devastating scandal that brought the industry to its knees. It's a nostalgic journey that questions the material value of once-prized possessions, ultimately celebrating the enduring power of childhood memories and the personal connections forged through shared interests. The narrative masterfully evokes a sense of loss for a bygone era, while honoring the simple joy of the hobby itself.
