THE AUTHOR, THE STAR AND THE KEEPER

Cinemavixion Review

Steven F. Zambo's "The Author, The Star and the Keeper" offers a poignant exploration of familial bonds and the enduring power of narrative. Bruce Marchiano delivers a compelling performance as The Author, a figure who crafts the very story of redemption for his estranged son, The Star, played with nuanced vulnerability by Simon Jon Provan. The film's strength lies in its intimate portrayal of reconciliation as The Star returns to reconnect with his ailing father, The Keeper. Zambo masterfully weaves a tale that is both personal and universal, touching upon themes of forgiveness and the complex dynamics within families. While the IMDb rating suggests a mixed reception, the film's heartfelt approach and strong central performances make it a worthy watch for those seeking a character-driven drama that resonates with emotional depth. The narrative structure itself, mirroring the Author's writing process, adds an intriguing layer to this touching story of a father and son's journey back to each other.
