THE ARCHITECT

Cinemavixion Review

Jonathan Parker's 'The Architect' delves into the often-fraught intersection of artistic vision and domestic partnership. The film centers on a couple whose aspirations for a dream home become entangled with the obsessive ego of their chosen architect. Parker masterfully crafts a narrative that explores themes of control, compromise, and the unsettling realization that creative passion can morph into a domineering force. Parker Posey delivers a compelling performance as the wife increasingly captivated by the architect's avant-garde ideals, often at the expense of her own marital stability. The film serves as a sharp, albeit occasionally understated, commentary on the pursuit of perfection and the potential for our deepest desires to be reshaped by external influences, leaving audiences to ponder the true meaning of 'home'.
