THE ABSENT

Cinemavixion Review

Sage Bannick's 2011 thriller, "The Absent," plunges into the murky depths of familial secrets and psychological turmoil. While the local description hints at a teacher-student dynamic, the external data suggests a more intricate plot centered on twin brothers, Vincent and Oscar Burton, and a desperate struggle for survival against their own parents. Starring Bryan Kirkwood, Vanessa Zima, and Denny Kirkwood, the film appears to explore themes of betrayal and self-preservation, set against a backdrop of a town harboring dark truths. Despite a modest IMDb rating of 3.3, "The Absent" may offer a compelling, albeit unsettling, cinematic experience for those drawn to psychological thrillers with a sinister edge.
