THE 6TH FRIEND

Cinemavixion Review

In "The 6th Friend," director Letia Clouston delivers a slasher that attempts to blend a tale of fractured friendships with a supernatural edge. The narrative follows six college friends whose celebratory graduation party descends into chaos, a trauma that resurfaces five years later when they reunite. The film stars Jamie Bernadette, Chantelle Albers, and Dominique Swain, who navigate a plot that, while promising in its premise, struggles to fully capitalize on its potential. Clouston, also co-writing with Bernadette, crafts a story that leans into a psychedelic, nightmarish atmosphere, underscored by the film's 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite a modest 4.3 rating on IMDb, "The 6th Friend" offers a suspenseful, albeit uneven, exploration of past horrors and enduring bonds, making it a curious watch for fans of the genre seeking a twist on familiar tropes.
