TESSA BEETGE: A LIFE INTERRUPTED

Cinemavixion Review

The documentary "Tessa Beetge: A Life Interrupted" offers a chilling look into the perilous world of drug trafficking, focusing on the South African woman convicted of transporting illegal substances abroad. Released in 2015, this film, directed by Meggan Raubenheimer, delves into the harrowing details of Beetge's arrest at Sao Paulo airport while attempting to smuggle a significant quantity of cocaine. The narrative is further intensified by revelations suggesting Beetge may have been a pawn, recruited under duress or manipulation by influential figures with political ties. The documentary serves as a stark reminder of the complex and often dangerous circumstances that can ensnare individuals in international criminal enterprises, prompting reflection on the human cost behind headline-grabbing cases.
