From the depths of cinematic obscurity emerges "Tentacles," a 1977 Italian-American co-production that dives headfirst into creature feature territory. Directed by Ovidio G. Assonitis, the film attempts to blend environmental commentary with the primal fear of a mutated cephalopod terrorizing a seaside community. While the premise promises thrilling encounters, the execution often feels adrift, hampered by a sluggish pace and a plot that struggles to maintain momentum. The performances, particularly from seasoned actors John Huston and Shelley Winters, lend a degree of gravitas, yet they can't entirely salvage the film from its B-movie roots.
