TEMPLE

Cinemavixion Review

Michael Barrett's 2017 film "Temple" plunges viewers into a harrowing descent into the Japanese wilderness, following three American tourists whose adventurous quest for an ancient temple transforms into a terrifying ordeal. The narrative, penned by Simon Barrett, Neal Edelstein, and Shin'ya Egawa, masterfully builds suspense as the protagonists become ensnared by vengeful spirits. While the film received a modest reception, with an IMDb rating of 3.7/10 and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 30%, it offers a chilling exploration of isolation and the supernatural. Despite its critical reception, "Temple" delivers a claustrophobic and unsettling horror experience, making it a noteworthy, albeit bleak, entry in the genre for those seeking a dark, atmospheric journey.
